Our environment brings us endless stimulation. We often focus on what we can see and hear and take for granted that both these senses are reinforced by the scents around us. Our sense of smell is perhaps the most visceral of the senses. Bypassing the thalamus in our brain and targeting the limbic system - scent provokes instant emotion. It transports us back to moments in time that we may or may not want to recall.
Our aim is to add the dimension of fragrance to the Metaverse. To create a scent that conjures an instant link to a world that exists in a sort of parallel to a world that has become all too familiar. A scent that brings more depth to the Metaverse but also allows us to feel more connected to it with one spray.
OUR MISSION: THE METAVERSE ACCORD
After purchase of the NFT you will be invited to join a DAO dedicated to olfactory exploration. You will work with perfumer Nadeem Crowe of Rook Perfumes (Pure Beauty Awards, Marie Claire USA, Dazed Beauty and GQ) to explore the possible fragrance notes of a 'Metaverse accord.' In collaboration with the DAO, Nadeem will create a bespoke Metaverse Perfume which will be formulated and released for sale (subject to formal cosmetic clearance). On purchase of the DAO you will become an official 'Rookie.' 100 places will be available in the DAO in total.
FAQS
1) What is an 'accord'? In perfumery an accord describes a group of notes (individual scents) which when combined create a distinct fragrance. A perfume usually includes several accords.
2) How long does the process take? The discussions within the DAO will go on for up to 8 weeks (longer if required). After this there will be up to 12 weeks for final formulation and laboratory clearance.
3) Will every idea suggested end up in the final fragrance? The final scent will be the perfumer's interpretation of what has been discussed in the DAO. As with all fragrance it may not be to everyone's taste. It is however important to consider fragrance as a piece of art in a bottle and to value the process as much as the final product.
4) Will the scent ship internationally? Yes. There will be exceptions due to the hazardous goods shipping regulations required for fragrance. Shipping to the Gulf, Middle East, Australia and some part of Asia can be costly. The cost of shipping will be included in the cost of the NFT with some exceptions.
